Summer is the thing to plan around on this route — Phoenix regularly tops 110°F in July and August, so we stage the truck at first light and try to have Phoenix-bound loads rolling before the valley floor heats up. Winter season (July–September) can also stack up dust along I-64, so we build a little cushion into next-day Phoenix moves those months.
